Previous Scanning Projects
As a project manager/office manager at several engineering firms I was responsible for many large scale projects in and around the City of Boston. We completed such high profile sites as:

2008 - Steel As-Built Woonsocket, RI
2003 - Charles St Jail Boston, MA
2003 - Mass Turnpike Ledge Sections
2003 - Prudential Center Boston, MA
Prudential Center Boston (2003)
Our task consisted of providing the location and elevations of the sewer and drainage utilities for the As-Built Plans to be submitted to the Boston Water and Sewer Commission for approval and recording of Easement Plans. The total length of the utilities that ran through the underground garages was about 1,200 feet. Scanning time, 8 hours; processing time 24 hours.

World Trade Center S. Boston (2003)
We were hired by the owner to provide As-Built Plans of the site to provide to the architect for the design of a mixed use complex. They required the locations of the Central Artery Tunnels and ramps, the Silver Line Tunnel and the existing viaduct that ran across the site to the World Trade Center for the proposed locations of the piles in between the tunnels and viaduct to support a high rise and parking garage. The scan was completed in 60 hours. In 4 weeks we provided the completed plans.

2003 - UMass Medical Center Worcester, MA
UMass Medical Center (2003)
This project consisted of locating all of the windows of the entire building. The general contractor needed as built location and elevations of the corners of each window for the installation of a new facade. We scanned the entire building, including establishing horizontal and vertical control, processing the data in 4 weeks, preparing CAD drawings in 12 weeks.

2002 - MIT Undergraduate Dorm Vassar St Cambridge, MA
MIT Undergraduate Dorm (2002)
The general contractor needed as built locations of all the rough openings in the concrete walls so that they could install the prefabricated windows and stainless steel siding. The project was on a fast pace and their field crew was only able to locate nine openings (one dorm room) in a day by conventional methods. We scanned one side of the building in one week and provided the CAD drawings within the next two weeks.

2001 - Mass Turnpike Tunnel Project
Mass Turnpike Tunnel Project (2001)
We were hired to work on the as-built locations of all of the structural steel members (and their dimensions) of the Massachusetts Turnpike Tunnel that ran underneath the 26 acre site, the Prudential Center. We estimated 3 weeks to gather the data using conventional survey methods and 4 weeks to process the information and prepare CAD drawings. Thankfully we had 3D Laser Scanning Technology. We saved our client a substantial amount of money and delivered the product ahead of schedule. Two months later we were asked to provide cross-sections of the tunnel every 25 feet. We delivered the plans within the week.
